The Cañada College Fashion Design
Department has been educating students in the art and science
of fashion since 1968 and is a respected leader in career training
and advancement. The department has been hosting the Designer
Sale & Fashion Show since 1991. |

Mission |
The Designer Sale provides an extensive learning
experience for students on event planning and marketing while
serving as a fundraiser for student scholarships and classroom
equipment. Additionally, the event helps build relationships between
the students, department, and professionals in the fashion industry
and promotes awareness of the outstanding
Fashion Design Department at Cañada College. |

Event Overview |
The Designer Sale will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008
from 10:00am - 5:00pm on the campus of Cañada College. Designers will offer
their products for sale. The student fashion show will be held in the spring, date
to be announced. |

Chairwoman |
The Cañada College Artistry in Fashion Designer Sale & Fashion Show is chaired by Ronda Chaney. Ronda is the Program Coordinator of the Cañada College Fashion Design Department and has an BS Degree from University of Missouri and an MS Degree from San Francisco State University. Ronda has been a professor of Fashion Design at Cañada College for the past 27 years and has been the coordinator of the program for the past 14 years. Her enthusiasm for fashion has inspired many students to uniquely express their own creativity. She is co-author of the book Make It Your Own and has written for various publications, such as Sewing Update, Serger Update, Sew News, F.I.T. Review, and Singer Sewing Books. She has also appeared on the nationally syndicated television program America Sews. Ronda is known throughout the United States as an inspiring lecturer and has most recently presented at the Annual Conference of the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers (PACC) in Portland, Oregon. |
